The Thunderbird Amateur Radio Club has established a regular ham license exam session. Our VE liaison, Jim K7EOG has secured a semi-permanent home, and we have a session on the third Wednesday of every month at 6:00 pm. It's at the Honor Health Medical Office Building, 19841 N 27th Ave in Phoenix. Because of limited seating, signups are necessary--send email to ve@w7tbc.org for details.

The Thunderbird Amateur Radio Club is sponsoring a Technician-level license course. This is an entry level course for anyone wanting to get started with amateur radio / ham radio. You will learn all you need to know to receive an FCC technician level license.

No previous experience is required. The course runs Saturday mornings 9:00 to Noon, on September 16th through October 7th, 2017, with the license test on October 7th.

The Thunderbird Amateur Radio Club's mailing address has changed! You can now send us snail mail at:

    Thunderbird Amateur Radio Club
    P.O. Box 32544
    Phoenix, AZ 85064-2544

We're still meeting at NAU North Phoenix - none of the other addresses have changed, just the one you need a stamp for.

The 2017 TBARC Hamfest was a great success. Thanks to everyone who attended to make it what it was!

Despite ominous weather the week before, things cleared up on Saturday for a sunny morning. We received very positive feedback about the sessions we had, and I saw more than one person happily playing with a cardboard calculator.

Our VE session also went well - congratulations to the new and upgraded license holders. Your hard work and study paid off.

We'd especially like to thank the TBARC volunteers who did the many jobs that are required to put on a hamfest. You saw some of them helping you find a parking spot, but you may not have seen the others who organized, arranged and otherwise planned for one of the best hamfests in the valley. Thanks to all of you!
