TBARC will be holding a 10-week class to help you get your Amateur Extra class license. It will on Saturdays from 9:00 am to noon starting on March 3 and running through May 5. This will be one of the last chances to get your Extra license before the question pool changes in July. See the 2012 Extra Class Flyer for further details.
Thanks to everyone who helped to make our hamfest such a success! We had a great sunny day, and lots of attendees and sellers. At the VE test, 24 applicants walked out with a new license!
See you next year!

- Vice President - Peter Decker, K7IJR
- Treasurer - Al Johnson, AE7GM
- Secretary - Jack York, KE7VOU
- Director at Large (2012-2013) - Israel Vicente, AD7ND
- Director at Large (2012-2013) - Rick Tejera, K7TEJ
- Director at Large (2011-2012) – Ken Croxton, KD7OWZ
- Immediate Past President – Jim Puza, AE7JP
This year, the 2011 Ham of the Year honored at the December Holiday Banquet was Jack Lunsford, KD7RCJ. He was selected as someone who has done a tremendous amount of things for the club over an even longer period of time.
If you are a member of TBARC and do not know Jack, you have not been very active. Jack was TBARC President for several years and has served on the board as immediate past president for the past two years. Jack has hosted the club Field Day for a number of years in Flagstaff. He has headed up the education subcommittee that has conducted a large number of classes for various license class levels and has himself taught many of the sessions. He has headed up the Hamfest for a number of years. He has hosted activities such as the antenna build parties and it would be foolish to try to recall all of the things he has done for the club over the years.
Jack has been the wise sage who attended board meetings and provided us with the institutional memory we needed to build on in planning for and directing the club. He was the quite, calm voice of reason that could usually cut through the fog of complex discussions and recommend what was just right for the club.
Jack continues to lead us into new areas with establishing a club insurance plan to insure our hard assets. He has done a great deal of research to lead us toward establishing ourselves as a 501(c)3 non-profit which will be important to the club in the future. He personifies all of the good things we associate with a ham operator. Jack received a standing ovation from the members as he accepted the 2011 Ham of the Year plaque at this years Holiday Banquet.
TBARC now has shirts and caps available for purchase.
