General Amateur Radio License Classes - Summer 2008
 

Starting Saturday, July 26, 2008, 10:00AM to 1:00PM at Arizona Science Center, Boardroom "A" (600 E. Washington St. - Downtown Phoenix) 
 
Instructors: Bob Burleson, KG7QJ, Rick Checketts, KA0KZB, Robert L. Strauss, W7JTR, and Ralph Craner, KV0R.
 
Classes start Saturdays July 26th and continue through September 6th, 10:00am to 1:00pm. Seven 3-hour sessions. VE testing at last class session.  Tuition is $10.00.  The required text will be available from the instructor at the first meeting for $20.00.  Testing fee will be an additional $14.00.

Phoenix Area Volunteer Examinations Testing Sessions

Arizona Amateur Radio Club (AARC) holds license examination sessions on the 4th Saturday of the month from September through May.  The testing sessions are held at 7 PM at the American Red Cross Building, 6135 N. Black Canyon Highway (I-17), East side, just North of Bethany Home Road. Amateur Radio Exam Scheduled For DeVry University Back in Operation

Amateur Radio examinations routinely sponsored by DeVry Amateur Radio Club and West Valley Amateur Radio Club will again hold VE Testing at DeVry University.  To prepare yourself for the exam, David recommends the following: Take at least 20 practice tests on QRZ.com to make sure that you are ready.

AZ Desert Chapter 10-10 International and the Superstition ARC

The AZ Desert Chapter 10-10 International and the Superstition ARC hold VE Testing sessions on the third Monday of every month at Mesa Cities Utilities Offices, 640 N. Mesa Drive, Mesa with registration starting at 6:00 PM.  Contact Steve Gurley at 480-804-1469.

Boy Scout Troop 127

The Boy Scout Troop 127 holds VE Testing sessions at 8 :00 PM on the third Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier School, 4715 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ.  Contact John Kelly, 602-264-6854 for further information.


Information:

When you are ready to take an exam for an Amateur Radio license, there are Volunteer Examiners available to assist you.  Each applicant will need to bring a picture ID (some test sessions require two forms of identification).  If you are upgrading your class of license, be sure to bring your original (and a copy) of your license and/or Certificate of Successful Completion of Examination (C.S.C.E.).  There will be a fee required.
