The 2017 TBARC Hamfest was a great success. Thanks to everyone who attended to make it what it was!

Despite ominous weather the week before, things cleared up on Saturday for a sunny morning. We received very positive feedback about the sessions we had, and I saw more than one person happily playing with a cardboard calculator.

Our VE session also went well - congratulations to the new and upgraded license holders. Your hard work and study paid off.

We'd especially like to thank the TBARC volunteers who did the many jobs that are required to put on a hamfest. You saw some of them helping you find a parking spot, but you may not have seen the others who organized, arranged and otherwise planned for one of the best hamfests in the valley. Thanks to all of you!

We now have a gallery (http://www.w7tbc.org/content.php?424...-pictures-2016) of pictures from our holiday banquet - thanks to John Marshall, WA7BSR. Thanks John!

Here's a picture of our Ham of the Year - Walt Reinert, NJ8G - receiving his award from Gary WK7B.
Thank you Walt, for always stepping up when something needed to happen!

The election results were announced there as well:
    President: Gary Duffield WK7B
    Vice-president: Chris Johnson K6OZY
    Secretary: Gary Cline AF7BJ
    Treasurer: Darren Johnson AF7CO
    Director 2016-2017: Joe Arnold AD0X
    Director 2016-2017: Andrew Cornwall KF7CCC
    Director 2017-2018: Wayne Hale W6IZK
    Director 2017-2018: Robert Fairfield K7RQN

David Laird KG7NGE volunteered his time to make the necessary adaptations to the TBARC equipment trailer so that our antenna wouldn't rattle around inside, but instead be properly shelved. We've got photographic proof!

Thanks to Alana Laird KG7NGF for taking the pictures. You can see the whole gallery here.

Thanks to Virgil K7VZ for this picture of the TBARC VE team at the August session.

The Thunderbird Amateur Radio Club has established a regular ham license exam session. Our VE liaison, Jim K7EOG has secured a semi-permanent home, and we have a session on the third Wednesday of every month at 6:00 pm. It's at the Honor Health Medical Office Building, 19841 N 27th Ave in Phoenix. Because of limited seating, signups are necessary--send email to ve@w7tbc.org for details. If you are a VE and would like to volunteer, use the same address: ve@w7tbc.org.
