    What I've done since last board meeting:
    • Added Hamfest section / article / hot topic link
    • Updated net control schedule
    • Updated hamfest info
    • Added article, updated meeting info for banquet


    What I'd like to do:
    • Add minutes / agendas
    • Update with new room location when available
    • Additional PayPal links for store (shirts, etc)
    • Get offsite backups running
    • Document passwords /

  2. electron tubes for the transatlantic cable.

    The above name will bring up a number of sources to the Bell and British Post Office development and production of tubes for repeaters in the marine cables. I would guess that many of us who grew up with tubes seldom studied about tubes with a 20 plus year life span.

    The BPO used 3 tubes per repeater, Bell used 2. They were pentodes. The materals were refined to a point where the chance of cause of failure could not be traced to mineral content, plating, thermal expansion, or out ...

    • Added room to General class info (Snell 29)
    • Updated board meeting location / time for October
    • Added board / general minutes
    • Added Spring/Fall and Fall Only download areas for courses
    • Updated roster, MailChimp with new members

  4. NOAA Weather imaging

    OK, so in never ending quest to Nerdvana, I just tracked and downloaded this image directly from the weather Satellite NOAA-18 as it passed over head. Lots of noise in the image (The horizontal streaks), but one can clearly see the cloud cover over central Arizona and northern Baja. Need to calibrate the software a bit to get better images.

    I used my Icom IC-7000 into my base VHF\UHF antenna. I see Quadifilar helical Antenna build in my future....
